Job Description

THOR Solutions, LLC is actively seeking a highly motivated Logistician Subject Matter Expert (SME) IV with extensive demonstrated specialized expertise in shipboard systems to support Commander Naval Surface Force Atlantic (CNSL). Individual shall serve as an integral member of the assessment team and support pre-mission/event planning. Individual shall document discrepancies found by team members during ship assessments.

 Job Requirements:

  • Individual shall have experience and demonstrated ability to perform detailed and complex actions, and demonstrate expertise in shipboard systems and the Navy’s maintenance system, system specifications, the supply system (including the 3M system).
  • Individual shall have a minimum of 20 years of task-related experience and have been designated as a shipboard 3M Coordinator with NEC 9517 and be a graduate of the 3M Systems Coordinator Course. Experience shall be recent (within 5 years).
  • Individual shall possess a unique capability or experience associated with a particular Navy classification rating.
  • Individual shall possess broad experience in shipboard systems and material condition assessment to be a credible SME.
  • Individual shall possess relevant and sufficient background for the target shipboard audience.
  • Individual shall possess relevant experience at senior levels or a key maintenance management/operational/leadership role.
  • Individual shall have experience in providing training and assessments at the senior technician level (often E7-E9 audience) and ship’s wardroom.
  • Individual shall have experience in material management programs to provide training to ship’s company and shall provide process improvement recommendations to all levels of the shipboard Chain of Command.
  • Individual shall be able to effectively communicate and serve as an instructor and mentor to senior officers and senior enlisted Sailors.
  • Individual must have recent experience conducting technical briefs at all levels of shipboard managers/technicians.
  • Individual shall be a graduate of the associated Navy A and C schools and be considered an expert in the field.
    • Associated systems: Anti-submarine warfare, mine countermeasure systems, communications, information security, operations, navigation, weapons, AEGIS, propulsion systems (steam/diesel/gas turbine), damage control, auxiliaries, electrical, deck, ventilation, supply, environmental systems, habitability, aviation, NAVOSH, and preservation.
  • Individual shall be able to observe the following demonstration areas:
    • Full power demonstration, quick reversals, steering, operations, deck evolutions anchor drop, (refueling/fueling at sea, Anchoring, Boat Launch and Recovery, Well Deck Operations), detect to engage (air defense, self-defense, and anti-submarine), main battery live fire, crew served weapons, Phalanx, Ballasting, and Ballistic Missile Defense.
