Job Description

THOR Solutions is actively seeking a highly motivated Electrical Engineer in support of the US Coast Guard. The position will provide electrical engineering and C4 support services to the USCG in Washington, DC. The contractor will provide technical support in electric propulsion systems, machinery control systems, power generation and distribution systems, interior communications systems, navigation systems, C4ISR and weapons systems integration.

The individual will support the US Coast Guard by providing technical assessments of shipbuilder electrical, C4, weapons, and navigation design deliverables, support in development of C4ISR and electrical systems specifications, support in development of Contract Data Requirements List (CDRL) and Data Item Description (DID) documents, develop Time Compliance Technical Orders (TCTO) & Engineering Changes (EC), draft Statements of Work and cost estimates in support of post delivery activities, and work on ship construction and repair specifications.

  • An Active Secret Clearance is desired but not required.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • The ideal candidate shall have a working knowledge of electrical engineering disciplines related to machinery control systems,navigation systems power generation and distribution systems, interior communications systems, electrical systems, weapons systems integration, hardware spec development, and topology development.
  • The ideal candidate shall have experience providing support in shipboard design, software and systems integration for all shipboard C4ISR and weapons systems and the following certification programs: TEMPEST, Information Assurance, combat and weapons systems safety.
  • Qualified candidate shall have experience performing detailed design and analysis in order to evaluate planned engineering changes in support of major shipbuilding acquisition and repair projects.
