Job Description

THOR Solutions is actively seeking a highly motivated individual in support of the US Coast Guard. The position will provide HM&E engineering support services to the Surface Forces Logistics Center (SFLC) in Norfolk, VA.  Assistance will include creating and reviewing Engineering Changes, planning availabilities, reviewing work specifications, cost estimating and developing QA plans for propulsion shafting and controllable pitch propeller system component and arrangements.

The individual will support the Medium Endurance Cutter Product Line by developing repair analysis and specifications, authoring cost estimates, developing Time Compliance Technical Orders (TCTO) & Engineering Changes (EC), and reviewing technical drawings and reports.  The individual will prepare project progress reports and white papers and also perform and manage all logistic and technical components for TCTO and EC execution.

  • None

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Must have experience with propulsion shafting and Controllable Pitch Propeller (CPP) system components and arrangements, including multiple types of mechanical and inflatable shaft seals.
  • Must have a minimum of 5 years experience in shafting alignment and repair both in and out of water.  Preferred experience with the Coast Guard.
