Job Description

THOR Solutions is actively seeking a highly motivated individual in support of the US Coast Guard. The position will provide HM&E engineering support services to the Surface Forces Logistics Center (SFLC) in Norfolk, VA.  Assistance will include creating and reviewing Engineering Changes, planning availabilities, reviewing work specifications, cost estimating and developing QA plans for onboard systems.

The individual will support the Medium Endurance Cutter Product Line by developing repair analysis and specifications, provide technical review of maintenance standards and drawings, authoring cost estimates, developing Time Compliance Technical Orders (TCTO) & Engineering Changes (EC), and reviewing technical drawings and reports.  The individual will prepare project progress reports and white papers and also perform and manage all logistic and technical components for TCTO and EC execution.


Job Requirements

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • The Contractor shall have a working knowledge of engineering disciplines related to HM&E ship systems
  • Detailed knowledge of principles, practices and techniques of ship repair; including dry docking, dock and sea trials, non-destructive testing and other practices and techniques unique to the marine industry
  • Must have practical knowledge of shipboard systems and equipment, with a minimum of 5 years experience in the marine field (preferably with the Coast Guard)
