Job Description

THOR Solutions, LLC has an opening for a Junior Engineer to work alongside other engineers and technicians to provide assistance with technical tasks at Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) in Washington, D.C.  Tasks include but not limited to:

  • Provide analytical support for the planning, development, and integration of mine-countermeasures in support of the Littoral Combat Ship (LCS) Mine Countermeasures (MCM) Mission Package (MP).
  • Develop Integrated Plans and support Microsoft Project tasking. Create and update schedules in MS Project for MCM systems. Lead day-to-day support efforts such as meeting facilitation, Action Item tracking/updating.
  • Provide correspondence response. Draft briefs and review all correspondence on behalf of the MCM Director and provide a synopsis of the issues and recommendations. Develop ship project directives.
  • Conduct board preparation. Prepare Risk Management Board packages for the MCM Director.  Summarize risks that pertain to APMs.  Prepare Configuration Control Board packages for the MCM Director.  Summarize all configuration changes that pertain to specific programs.
  • Apply DoD (preferably US Navy program office) budgetary, acquisition, and programmatic knowledge with support efforts of the associated MCM MP development, system integration, acquisition, budget, and related programmatic efforts. Work in a diverse environment of Navy civilians, other support contractors, OEMs, and the larger stakeholder community to include other NAVSEA Program Offices, NAVSEA Field Activities, OPNAV resource sponsor, other government offices, and OEMs in support of LCS MCM MP development and integration efforts.
  • Experience in computer resources software, ability to provide software upgrades a plus.

Job Requirements

Security Clearance Requirement:

An Active SECRET clearance is required.

1 - 4 years of experience in any of the following areas is highly desired:

  • Must have one to three years of acquisition and program management support in a DoD program office.

  • The ideal candidate is a proactive, self-starter with one to three years of experience within a DoD Navy program office and understands the programmatic aspects of NAVSEA PMS codes: acquisition, budgets, POM cycle, PowerPoint brief development, facilitating meetings (invites, minutes, AI tracking, etc.), and other duties as required.

  • DoD, US Navy or NAVSEA DAU training strongly preferred.
