In support of the USCG National Security Cutter Program Management Office, we are seeking a Senior Systems Engineer with a minimum of 10 years of experience with shipboard Electronics and C4ISR systems in a DOD or DHS major acquisition program. Candidate must be resourceful, hardworking, detail oriented, and a self-starter interested in working within a multi-disciplinary team. Candidate will work on a high-visibility and mission critical aspects of this program and must be able to perform all functional duties independently. Professional integrity and attention to detail is a must.

Provide support in shipboard design, software and systems integration for all shipboard C4ISR and weapons systems and the following certification programs: TEMPEST, Information Assurance, combat and weapons systems safety. Provide support to troubleshoot system failures or integration issues and planning/management of certifications and provide resolutions to rectify those troubles/failures/issues.

Coordinate and monitor this effort and advise the various engineering support contractors participating in this system development, such as SPAWAR, SPAWAR System Support Centers, and the USCG Program’s C4ISR Domain, COMDT (CG-933), COMDT (CG-6) and COMDT (CG-2) with regard to topology development, general arrangement changes, hardware specifications development, configuration management, assessment/certification/accreditation and C4ISR integration.

Education Requirement(s):

  • MA/MS Degree and Ten (10) Years of relevant experience OR BA/BS Degree and Eighteen (18) Years of relevant experience

Security Clearance Requirement(s):

  • Qualified candidates must possess or have the ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Senior Systems Engineer - Electronics / C4ISR shall have at least ten (10) years demonstrated experience with shipboard C4ISR systems to include design and integration of navigation and combat weapon systems. Direct experience shall include extensive knowledge of Navy SPAWAR GFE systems and their technical interface with installed shipboard systems.

  • Ten (10) Years of relevant experience and a MA/MS degree or Eighteen (18) Years of relevant experience and BA/BS
  • Have a minimum of at least one (1) year demonstrated experience with shipbuilding acquisitions
  • Have a minimum of at least one (1) year demonstrated experience supporting a major system acquisition program (DHS/USCG Level I, DoD ACAT I or equivalent)
  • Excellent verbal, interpersonal, and written communication and presentation skills;
  • Team player with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and/or Access), Sharepoint and other software/tools provided on the Coast Guard Standard Workstation
  • Anticipated travel requirement: Less than 10 percent

 Travel Requirement

  • Travel approximately 3-4 weeks annually to other USCG commands or major cutter homeports located in areas such as Alameda, CA, Charleston, SC, or Honolulu, HI.
