Job Description

The Training Specialist III will provide training and curriculum development support  to a US Navy organization relating to fleet support and analysis in engineering and logistics. Support will include conducting and supervising training and development programs for government employees, and will plan, organize, and direct a wide range of training activities. The Training Specialist III must research problems, understand planning and program development, and assist with training employees with the development of new skills. This individual will consult with onsite supervisors regarding available performance improvement services, assess the training needs of clients, and guide them through the most appropriate training methods. The Training Specialist will set up teaching materials and lesson plans prior to class and involve the class, and will issue completion certificates at the end of class.

  • Generate and update technical training briefs, training curriculum videos, curriculum and instructional packages.
  • Provide program plans, specifications, engineering, analytic, and technical support to organization in the planning and development of weapons systems.
  • Prepare curriculum materials using technical data to define course content, personnel requirements, prerequisite criteria, validation requirements, and training effectiveness measurements.
  • Develop training documentation to define required training devices, equipment, and unique tools.
  • Utilize Government Furnished Information to prepare, document, and present multi-media presentations.
  • Document, control, and maintain the Common Core Curricula baseline for the organization's intermediate level maintenance.
  • Attend program meetings to maintain record of technical information applicable to training programs.
  • Prepare training material baseline status reports, briefings, presentation materials, and viewgraphs, as required.

Security Clearance Requirement

  • An active SECRET clearance is required for this position.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Master's level degree in Education, Psychology, or related Training Systems discipline.
  • 10 years professional experience in curriculum development and conducting training in a government oganization, including the preparation of course content, personnel requirements, prerequisite criteria, validation requirements, and training effectiveness measurements.
  • Demonstrated experience providing training in a technical and/or government organization.
